What is IDD?

IDD stands for Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD), a group of conditions that affect a personโ€™s cognitive abilities, learning, and adaptive behaviors. These disabilities appear before the age of 22 and can impact a personโ€™s ability to communicate, socialize, and perform everyday tasks independently. IDD includes a range of disabilities, such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, and vary widely in their effects on each individual. More than 500,000 Texans have IDD.
