What is IDD?
IDD stands for Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD), a group of conditions that affect a personโs cognitive abilities, learning, and adaptive behaviors. These disabilities appear before the age of 22 and can impact a personโs ability to communicate, socialize, and perform everyday tasks independently. IDD includes a range of disabilities, such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, and vary widely in their effects on each individual.
The Arc of Texas works to ensure that all Texans with IDD have access to the resources, supports, and opportunities needed to lead fulfilling and independent lives in their communities.
